Sunny
Therapy Horse
Coming Soon to Wichita
Sunny is a registered Quarter Horse with Doc Bar bloodlines. He has been used to sort cattle in feedlots, rope cattle on ranches, and in ranch sorting competitions. He has competed with a teenage rider in obstacle competitions; these horses are required to do unnatural things. Courses are set up for them to walk through smoke and water, shooting blank guns near them or off of them, walking through round hay feeders. It tests their willingness to trust and listen to their riders. Those competitions no doubt have helped with his “bomb proof” personality. He has also been used in Equine Therapy work and with rave reviews!!
As stunning as Sunny is to look at, he is not perfect. He has a "blue spot” on his eye. It has been evaluated by multiple vets and is felt to be a stable scar from an old roping injury. He has learned how to compensate for some vision loss. Therapy kids and adults alike find it comforting that though Sunny isn’t perfect either, he is willing to help them. Horses are Healers!
