Halle Reimer
Physician Associate
Hutchinson
I was 3 years old when my family moved to Hutchinson, and with the exception of my years in higher education, I have lived here ever since. I have always had an interest in medicine, and the opportunity to study cadavers in high school allowed me to become fascinated by the complexity of the human body and ultimately guided me toward a career in medicine. I then chose to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. I received my undergraduate degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and my master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.
After graduating from PA school, I returned home to Hutchinson and began my career as a surgical PA. I later transitioned to urgent care, where I have spent the past four and a half years caring for patients of all ages with a variety of acute concerns.
While urgent care has been a good fit for me, I knew I eventually wanted a position where I could build meaningful, long-term healthcare relationships with patients. I have also always been a strong proponent of preventative healthcare and helping patients take an active role in their health. Addressing health concerns early and focusing on prevention can help patients feel their best and avoid problems before they arise. My experience in urgent care has only reinforced the importance of this approach.
When I learned about Prairie Health and Wellness and its focus on preventative and functional medicine, I felt it closely aligned with what I was looking for in my career. I am excited to care for patients from this perspective, build lasting relationships with my patients, and incorporate my background in Nutrition Science into my practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Ted, and our two young children, Clara and Joel, as well as other family and friends. I love traveling, tackling DIY projects around my house, baking, trying new recipes, and watching Husker sporting events—especially Husker volleyball!
